Gebackene Schweine-Rippchen

For 2 servings

Salt the ribs, without overdoing it and then mix the spices with a drizzle of oil and sprinkle evenly over the ribs.

Put the ribs in a covered container and leave them in the refrigerator for one hour.

Preheat the oven to 120 degrees Celsius.

Place the ribs on a large baking sheet and if you have a rack, use it to raise them a little inside the tray.

Cover with aluminum foil. Bake in the oven for approximately 2 and a half hours.

After this time remove the aluminum foil and bake again for another 90 minutes.

Take out the tray with the ribs and bathe them on both sides with the BBQ sauce.

Put the ribs back in the oven and raise the temperature to 200 degrees for 10 more minutes.

Serve with potatoes, sweet potatoes or a green salad.

For the BBQ sauce:

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard (you can also use traditional mustard)
  • ¼ of onion, finely diced
  • 1 garlic clove
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Sauté the garlic and onion, add all the other ingredients and let it cook over low heat for 20 minutes.

Check the salt and when it has a thick consistency, remove from heat and set aside.
